Alfredo Morelos future at club to be decided on Friday following drink driving smash

Alfredo Morelos' future will be decided on Friday after his club holds a disciplinary meeting about the former Rangers striker.

But the Colombian hitman is gathering advice after his arrest because of doubts about the legality of his failed breathalyser test, according to reports in his homeland, Morelos now plays for Nacional on loan from Santos in Brazil and was arrested last week after an accident with his car and a motorcyclist, Sebastian Guillermo Davila Valderrama.

He later failed a breathalyser test and although not officially suspended by his club, has not been considered for selection since the accident.

Nacional will hold a final disciplinary committee meeting on Friday with club president Sebastian Arango Botero present where they are expected to make a final decision on Morelos, who spent six years at Ibrox.

But the process could be dragged out because Morelos' team of lawyers have complained about the process where he was tested for alcohol in his system after the smash.

Reports have suggested Morelos was not breathalysed at the scene because he is regarded as a public figure and instead the tests were carried out at the city of Guarne's Hospital Nuestra Senora de la Candelaria.

But the hospital has now stated they cannot confirm the results of the tests and that would mean his charge of driving under the influence of alcohol would be dropped.

The 28-year-old has scored doubles in each of his last two games for Nacional, but must wait until the end of the week to discover his future.
