Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent 'zero chance' of staying at Rangers as pundit offers EPL no go theory

Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent have 'zero chance' of signing a new deal at Rangers before the summer window.

That is the view of former Hibs attacker Tam McManus who insists both the Colombian and the Englishman will be on their way out of Ibrox for free come the end of the season. Both attacker's contracts are running down with Rangers unlikely to make much back on their £7million investment to Liverpool in 2019 for Kent on any prospective deal, with the likes of Leeds United said to be keen.

Meanwhile Morelos was pinched from HJK Helsinki for £1million in a coup deal under failed boss Pedro Caixinha and has since gone on to score well over 100 goals for the Ibrox side. La Liga strugglers Sevilla were linked in some quarters with a move but the player himself and manager Michael Beale quashed those claims.

Yet pundit McManus believes there is no chance they will wear a Rangers shirt next season but that Kent has the chance to elevate himself with a move to the English Championship but that he isn't ready for the Premier League.

He told PLZ Soccer: “There’s zero chance of either signing on at Rangers. They’ll both leave on a free.

“Alfredo Morelos has been linked with Sevilla, they’ve just sacked their manager and are just two points ahead of relegation in the Spanish league. They could get relegated so I don’t think it’s a done deal at all.

“Ryan Kent has had a better season than Alfredo Morelos and I think he’ll pick something up in the Championship. I don’t think he’s done enough to get a Premier League club in England with his numbers, his goals and assists.

“He’s a very talented player and he goes past people but people will look at the standard up here and look at some of the teams he’s playing against and think it’s a big jump to be playing against Man United, Spurs and teams like that.

“I think he’ll land in the Championship in England and Morelos will be abroad somewhere.”
