Alexis Sanchez is set to become the latest Arsenal outcast to link up with Marseille after tearing up his lucrative deal at Inter Milan.
Sanchez became a fan favourite at the Emirates Stadium during a fruitful four-year spell in north London before a surprise move to Manchester United, where his career stalled. After a torrid 18 months in Manchester, the 33-year-old was handed a lifeline by Inter, where Sanchez has managed to rebuild his reputation.
But Sanchez has now thrashed out an agreement to leave the Italian giants a year early after Inter boss Simone Inzaghi made it clear that the striker was no longer in his plans - and he is poised to join the growing contingent of ex-Gunners who are plying their trade in France at Marseille.
According to a number of reports in France and Italy, Sanchez has already agreed terms on a two-year deal that will tie him to the French giants until the summer of 2024. The Chile star is expected to jet out to France later this week to complete the formalities of the switch.
The Stade Velodrome has become home to a number of former Arsenal stars in recent months, with Sanchez set to join the likes of Matteo Guendouzi, Sead Kolasinac and Nuno Tavares, who is currently at the club on a season-long loan from the Gunners.
William Saliba also starred for the French giants last year - although Marseille have missed out on clinching a permanent deal for the classy centre-half, who produced a dazzling display in Arsenal's 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on Friday.

After his Premier League career flatlined at Manchester United, Sanchez has been on an upward trajectory in recent years since joining Inter. The former Barcelona star helped the Italian giants to their first league title in 11 years and netted 20 goals in 109 appearances during his fruitful spell at the San Siro.
Sanchez was a regular under Inzaghi last term and clocked up 39 appearances in all competitions, however, it was made clear that he would be a peripheral figure at the club this year if he refused to move on.
He will now join Marseille in their quest to end Paris Saint-Germain's monopoly of the French league. Igor Tudor - who was appointed this summer - and his side are bidding to end a 13-year title drought this season - and they made the perfect start to the new domestic campaign on Sunday night, when Tavares bagged a stunning goal in a convincing 4-1 win over Stade Reims.
