Alexis Mac Allister has said he is "very calm" about the prospect of joining Liverpool as his transfer from Brighton edges nearer.
Mac Allister has emerged as the chief target for Jurgen Klopp as he looks to refashion his midfield this summer with the Reds having failed to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in seven years.
While Liverpool have remained tight-lipped, they are hoping to conclude a deal with Brighton before the Argentina midfielder heads off on international duty.

Mac Allister was in tears after Brighton's final Premier League game at Aston Villa having helped the Seagulls to European qualification for the first time in their history.
And the World Cup winner was then asked directly regards the interest from Liverpool and the chance to work with Klopp.
"I am very calm because I also have the possibility of being in a club like Brighton that accompanied me at all times and in which I really enjoy being," he said, speaking to Miami-based Argentine news outlet Infobae.
"If I do not have to leave the club I will continue to be very happy there, but I am aware that there are possibilities (to move) and if a good offer arrives for the club and for me we will evaluate it.
"I have no doubts that (the Premier League) is the best league to play in and that is why I am aware that I would like my next club to be in the Premier. I really enjoy being there."

Mac Allister added: "The objective is to continue improving as a person, as a player, to win more titles. I think this is my short-term objective and it will always be, because I will always be the same person and I will want to be a little better than the day before, so I focus a lot on that.
"I'm not going to complain, I'm 24 years old, I'm a world champion, I play in one of the best leagues in the world and I feel that my career is growing, but I still have my feet on the ground and I really want to improve, becoming a better person and better player every day. We'll see what the future brings."
Liverpool are tracking a number of midfielders as part of their summer overhaul of the engine room. They retain an interest in Mason Mount, although Manchester United have edged ahead in the race for the Chelsea midfielder. And reports in France have this week claimed the Reds are considering Nice's Khephren Thuram, who has appeared to like a social media post detailing Mac Allister's proposed move to Anfield.
The transfer window opens for Premier League clubs to make domestic transfers on June 14.
