The transfer window is fast approaching and Liverpool are expected to be key players once deals can be done on June 14.
Jurgen Klopp is planning a summer overhaul, with four first-team players bidding farewell last weekend. Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner departing leaves plenty of room in the Reds’ squad for a revamp.
Midfield should be the priority, but that does not rule out potential big-money improvements in other areas. Failing to qualify for the Champions League sickened Liverpool supporters and, under new sporting director Jorg Schmadtke’s stewardship, the Anfield hierarchy will be keen not to miss out again.

When one door closes, another opens and Klopp must rebuild his squad after a prolonged period of success. The ECHO have profiled what Bet365 are offering - giving a possible indication as to who may be wearing the famous Liverpool red by September 1.
Alexis Mac Allister - 1/25
Kicking off the list is arguably the worst-kept secret in world football. Brighton talisman Mac Allister is closing in on a Liverpool move, thought to be worth around £60million.
Speaking earlier today, the Argentine hinted that he may be on the move this summer. He said: "If I do not have to leave the club (Brighton) I will continue to be very happy there, but I am aware that there are possibilities and if a good offer arrives for the club and we will evaluate it."
Youri Tielemans - 11/2
Another player who is perennially linked with an Anfield move. Available on a free transfer, Tielemans has endured a poor campaign for Leicester City which ultimately ended in relegation.
The Belgian would provide a cheap alternative for Jurgen Klopp and has proven his worth in the Premier League - becoming a Foxes hero by scoring the winner in the 2021 FA Cup final.
A farewell post to supporters on Instagram read: “Victory and triumph, love, hope and even defeat, we've shared many special moments together. This is not a goodbye - but a heartfelt farewell.”
Sadio Mane - 16/1
German outlet Bild has claimed Mane, as well as Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry, are all heading for the Bayern Munich exit this summer. Just one year on from his Anfield departure, Liverpool were named as the club who could trigger a shock return.
While this may go down well with Reds fans, Mane is hardly the future at 31. An abundance of attacking options at Klopp’s disposal also makes a move unlikely - despite the 12/1 price.
Ruben Neves - 10/1
Neves is another almost certain to seek pastures new in the coming months. Just one year left on his current deal means Wolverhampton Wanderers may accept as little as £25million for their long-serving midfielder.
Barcelona, at 1/3, are the overwhelming favourites but Liverpool come in at second in the running.
Moses Caicedo - 14/1
Caicedo bizarrely pleaded with Brighton to let him leave in January amid reported interest from Arsenal. Fast forward a couple of months and the 21-year-old is angling for a move again.
"I am the youngest of 10 siblings from a poor upbringing in Santa Domingo in Ecuador,” he posted earlier this year. “My dream has always been to be the most decorated player in the history of Ecuador. I am proud to be able to bring in a record transfer fee for Brighton which would allow them to reinvest it and help the club continue to be successful.”
Mason Mount - 20/1
All roads lead to Mount ditching Chelsea and joining Manchester United in the next few weeks. At one point, Liverpool appeared to be leading the race but the 24-year-old has “agreed terms” with the Red Devils, according to The Telegraph.
