Alexandro Bernabei's potential arrival at Celtic shows "intelligent scouting" believes South American football expert Tim Vickery.
It is set for another busy season for the Ange Postecoglou’s men as they return to the Champions League and look to build on their Double winning heroics of the last campaign.
And Postecoglou has already moved to secure defender Cameron Carter-Vickers on a permanent deal from Tottenham Hotspur, while Jota looks set to follow after his successful loan move from Benfica last season.
Now Vickery has opened up on what Celtic fans should expert with interest heating up for Bernabei to be the latest recruit to join the Parkhead side.
He told Sky Sports News: "They are obviously looking at Argentine left backs, they looked at Francisco Ortega of Velez Sarsfield, these are young, quick left backs.
"I have not seen Bernabei for a while, but what is interesting about him is the first time I was watching him he was playing higher up the field as a left winger.
"He has got that capacity to get into the penalty area and score goals. nice left foot, good with set pieces, quick, interesting.
"And again, you wonder if he is going to get rolled over physically, but this to me looks like an intelligent piece of scouting because I'm a sucker for a left foot, it just opens up the field so much if you have someone with a good left foot like he has."
Bernabei has been absent from the Lanus match day squad in recent weeks due to ‘personal reasons’ as speculation continues to grow over his future.
And with Celtic keen to bring in a quality competitor for Greg Taylor at left-back ahead of competing on four fronts next season, a deal could certainly be struck if the Hoops get close to the 21-year-old's £4million valuation.
