Alexandre Lacazette reveals the one thing that Mikel Arteta has changed at Arsenal

Arsenal captain Alexandre Lacazette has spoken about Mikel Arteta's impact at the club.

The Gunners endured a torrid start to their Premier League campaign, losing all of their opening three league outings and failing to score a single goal in the process. However, they have since turned it all around, winning 17 of their next 25 league fixtures.

The north London outfit currently sit fourth in the table, three points ahead of fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who have played one more match on their local rivals. Now, Lacazette has stressed the importance of ending the club's five-year UEFA Champions League hiatus whilst also hailing Arteta's impact at the Emirates Stadium.

Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, he said: "We are focused on being in the top four. We want to get the team into the Champions League next season.

"We work for it all week, and at the moment, it’s working. We want to continue like this, working hard every day to play well at the weekend.

"Arteta is the leader, the boss, even the boss of the club. Since he arrived, a lot of things have changed, including everyone’s mentality… It’s all about him."

Lacazette has enjoyed a fruitful campaign, operating similarly to a false nine in Arsenal's 4-2-3-1 system, giving a platform for the likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard to thrive. The Frenchman has netted five goals and provided a further eight assists across all competitions.

However, his contract at the club is set to expire this summer, with a departure appearing likely unless something major changes in the next few months.
