Alexandre Lacazette is planning talks with Nuno Tavares after Arsenal celebrations vs Wolves

Alexandre Lacazette was Arsenal's hero against Wolves.

Despite not being credited with the last-minute goal that saw the Gunners come from behind to win 2-1 on Thursday night, the Frenchman certainly played a major role.

After combining with Nicolas Pepe, Lacazette was presented with a great chance to end his eight-game goal drought and when the ball hit the back of the net it seemed his long wait was over.

However, replays showed the Arsenal striker's effort was going wide and following an inadvertent touch from Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa helping the ball into his own net, he was credited with an own goal.

Not that it mattered too much to Lacazette as he sparked wild celebrations from fans, players, Mikel Arteta's coaching staff alike inside the Emirates Stadium.

Although, one of his teammates appeared to get carried away just a little.

Nuno Tavares, who replaced Kieran Tierney for the closing stages, perhaps got a bit too overexcited during the celebrations as he could be seen hitting Lacazette on the head repeatedly.

And the left-back's apparent obsession with the Frenchman's head continued at the final whistle as he patted it again whilst screaming something at the striker.

The Portugal U21 international then took to social media to reflect on a memorable night in north London.

"Absolute scenes at The Emirates," he wrote on Instagram accompanied with a fire emoji.

But, as seen in the image above, Lacazette issued a brilliant response to Tavares by revealing the pair need to have a talk in training and one can assume the defender's choice of celebration will be the topic of discussion.

"We need to talk tomorrow," the 30-year-old replied.

Tavares wasn't alone in acknowledging Lacazette's impact against Wolves as Arteta heaped praise on the striker for putting his contract situation to one side to help Arsenal's top-four quest.

"Yeah but we don’t know what’s gonna happen at the end of the season," the Spaniard said when asked how hard it could be to replace the Frenchman if he leaves this summer. "What he needs to do is put aside his future.

"We don’t have contracts that last 20 years and that’s part of our job."
