The moment Alexandra Daddario became a Hollywood sex symbol, might have been when she appeared on the first season of True Detective. On the second episode of the award-winning series, the actress appeared nude during an intimate scene with Woody Harrelson’s Marty. The actress has even revealed that the day after the episode aired, she was told by her manager the phone was “ringing off the hook” and it helped her book more roles. Daddario’s latest social media post has True Detective fans thinking back to that career-changing moment for the actress, but come on, the comment section is gross!
Alexandra Daddario took to Instagram Thursday to share a photo and video of herself with straight hair that looks to be freshly dyed a glorious shade of chocolate cherry. Her blue eyes also popped with bright red lipstick. However, the comment section is ridden with fans discussing her bra-free outfit with things like “I promise they looked at me first” or “A bit chilly at your location.” One True Detective fan even wrote “Going to re-watch True Detective Season 1 episode 2.”
Sure, the actress always looks dazzling in whatever she wears, but these comments are all focused on the same thing: Daddario’s boobs. While fans were laser-focused on one thing and one thing only, the social media moment does go to show that the actress can make a simple piece like a black long-sleeve top with a baby turtleneck provocative. Look all you want, but the actress has been married to Andrew Form for almost a year now.
It looks like she opted for a hair trim just in time for the weather starting to heat up in Los Angeles. Daddario recently was part of the 2023 Met Gala, though she went a more classic route than celebrities who went full feline for the big night in fashion. At the event, her hair was a few inches longer and a darker brown. Take a look at the outing that happened at the top of May:
Alexandra Daddario first made a name for herself with the Percy Jackson movies, which she’s since admitted had a “pressure” to it from book readers. But, her first scene on True Detective in 2014 really changed things for the actress. As she recalled to Collider back in 2021:
I didn’t expect to have what I had happen happen, which was - it’s a long time ago now - getting naked on a show where I didn’t have a huge role, I didn’t know what to expect. And then of course that episode aired and my manager called, and I’ll never forget it. I was sitting on my boyfriend’s couch and she calls me in the morning after the episode aired and she was like, ‘The phone’s been ringing off the hook all morning. The phone won’t stop ringing!’ And all of a sudden, everyone in town wanted to meet with me and then I booked San Andreas. So no, I would have never expected that from that role. It was tactical, but not that tactical.
From there, she also got to rock the iconic red swimsuit for the Baywatch movie, memorably starred in the first season of The White Lotus and starred in the new series, Mayfair Witches earlier this year. On the True Detective front, the series is set to return for Season 4 for those with an HBO Max subscription sometime this year, but Daddario is not among the cast.
