Alexandra Burke has announced she's pregnant - ten months after welcoming her first child into the world. The singer took to Instagram on Tuesday (April 4) to share the wonderful news that she and her partner Darren Randolph are set to become parents again.
Alexandra, who shot to fame after winning The X Factor in 2008, shared a series of photos of herself debuting her baby bump alongside footballer Darren. In the first image, the couple couldn't have looked happier as 34-year-old Alexandra bared her blossoming bump in a white bra and unbuttoned jeans.
Other photos showed a topless Darren, 35, lovingly placing his hand on Alexndra's stomach as they gazed towards the camera. "We are so excited to do this all again," the theatre star typed alongside the post.
Model Daisy Lowe was among the first to respond to the happy news, writing: "Ahhhh yay!!! So happy for you and your gorgeous growing family." Former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison commented: "Omg! Congratulations babes." Presenter AJ Odudu posted: "WOW!!!!" JLS star Oritise Williams, whose band came second to Alexandra on The X Factor, also shared: "Congrats Al."
The exciting news comes ten months after Alexandra and Darren welcomed their first baby together back in June. She confirmed the bundle of joy's arrival the following month in July 2022 - but she has chosen not to reveal its name or gender.
Last month, Alexandra, who affectionately calls her firstborn Grape, wrote about her love for her baby on her first Mother's Day alongside a sweet picture. "My first Mother’s Day as your mama… Feeling very blessed," she typed. "Can’t thank the hubby enough for making me feel so special and loved.
"My little baby Grape - thank you for making me a better person. For making me the best version of myself and showing up in ways I thought I never could… I am so lucky to be your mum."
The happy news also comes after Alexandra told MailOnline that she only sees partner Darren twice a week after the goalkeeper joined Bournemouth in January from Premiere League rivals West Ham United.
The West End star shared how it is 'tricky' with Darren living and working away, but that she's learned to 'adapt' and becoming a mum for the first-time last year has shown her just how 'amazing' women are.
She told the publication: "Whether it's about children or your life in general, women just adapt. No shade to men, I think men are great… but women, oh my God we make milk for crying out loud! My partner just moved away to Bournemouth bless him, so he isn't really here. It makes things really tricky for me, but we make it work.
'He comes home as and when he can which is roughly maybe twice a week at the most. I don't like him driving too much, I sound like a bit of a mum, but I don't like him driving when he's training, and he's exhausted. It isn't terrible because it's only two hours away and I love Bournemouth and where he's staying. It would be worse if he was five away hours."
She added: "We make it work and it's not forever and all I care about is supporting his career and standing by him when he makes these decisions."
