German fourth seed Alexander Zverev showcased his prowess on the court as he battled through challenging conditions to secure a victory over Hungary's Fabian Marozsan with a score of 6-3, 7-5 at the Miami Open on Thursday. Zverev's strategic approach included aggressive play against Marozsan's serve, where he capitalized on three out of seven break-point opportunities. Additionally, Zverev demonstrated his defensive skills by saving two break points and impressively winning 80% of his first-serve points during the match.

Despite the windy weather conditions, Zverev managed to maintain his composure and advance to the semifinals in Miami without dropping a set. Marozsan, a newcomer to the Miami Open, posed a formidable challenge for Zverev, having previously secured upsets against top-10 players Holger Rune and Alex de Minaur en route to the quarterfinals.

Following his victory, Zverev acknowledged Marozsan's potential for rapid ascent in the rankings, praising his opponent's skill and competitive spirit. Zverev highlighted the unique challenge Marozsan presented on the court, noting his ability to disrupt the control typically exerted by top players and emphasizing Marozsan's exceptional talent as a player.

Zverev's triumph, sealed with a remarkable backhand down the line that secured a crucial break, marked his return to the Miami Open semifinals for the first time since finishing as the runner-up in 2018. In the upcoming semifinal match, Zverev is set to face the winner between Spanish top seed Carlos Alcaraz and Bulgarian 11th seed Grigor Dimitrov, setting the stage for an exciting showdown in the tournament.
