Alexander Isak has been named as the Premier League Player of the Month for December.
The Newcastle United star has been in lethal form recently and wins the coveted award for the very first time. In his six top-flight appearances, Isak netted an impressive eight goals.
Three of those strikes came in the 4-0 thrashing of Ipswich Town at Portman Road. It was also Isak’s first hat-trick for the Magpies.
Isak actually netted in every Premier League game last month as the Toon Army climbed up to fifth position in the table. That record equalled Alan Shearer and Joe Willock’s efforts from previous seasons.
The super Swede started the month with a bang when he scored in the 3-3 draw with Liverpool. Further goals came in the fixtures against Brentford, Leicester, the Tractor Boys, Aston Villa and Manchester United.
Furthermore, the 25-year-old also provided two assists to cap off a superb month. They came in the home games against the Reds and the Foxes.

Alexander Isak Transfer News
Such is Alexander Isak’s superb form, the Newcastle United striker is starting to generate interest from the Premier League’s Big Six.
One of those potential suitors is Arsenal. However, it appears the Gunners won’t be able to afford Isak in the summer. With the Gunners likely to spend within their means.
The north Londoners were originally told it would take at least £115 million to tempt the Magpies into negotiations. Now, that figure will have likely increased. Essentially pricing Mikel Arteta’s side out of the race for his signature.
Chelsea and Liverpool have also been linked with Isak. However, it remains to be seen if either side is willing to meet Newcastle’s sky-high valuation.
Interestingly, Isak won the Player of the Month award having five less goal contributions than Mo Salah. The Egyptian King provided a record-breaking 15 G/A.
If he keeps up his form, Europe’s most in-form striker will surely start entertaining concrete interest from some of the world’s best clubs at the end of the season.
Before than, Isak is set for a well-deserved rest when non-league Bromley visit St James’ Park in the FA Cup 3rd round on Sunday. Ahead of the game, the best football betting sites in the UK have all the latest markets and odds.
