Alex Telles sends message to Manchester United ahead of Carrington return next week

Alex Telles showed his social media followers he is putting in the work ahead of his return to Manchester United next week.

Erik ten Hag will get his first chance to work with his new squad as United’s players begin to return to Carrington on June 27. The new Reds boss will likely have the vast majority of his side back by July 4, when the club’s international players are set to return following their short break.

They will have a busy month or so ahead of them as they prepare for the season opener against Brighton on August 7. United head out on tour next month as they visit Thailand, Australia and Norway before getting their Premier League campaign underway.

Although players aren’t yet back in training, a number of the Reds’ first team stars have already turned their attentions to the upcoming season. Plenty of players have posted on social media as they step up their preparations, working on their fitness before meeting their new manager.

Among them is Telles, who updated his Instagram story with a video of himself putting in the hard yards on the treadmill. The left-back captioned the video with the message “we never stop” as the new season draws into view.

United are aiming to improve on a disastrous 2021/22 campaign as Ten Hag takes over at Old Trafford. The Dutchman will be hoping to bring about an immediate change both on and off the pitch, with the Reds having been in decline over the years.

While a number of high-profile players, including Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard, have left the club this summer, United are still waiting to make their first new signings. The likes of Frenkie de Jong, Antony and Jurrien Timber are being targeted as Ten Hag looks to build on his success at Ajax.
