Rae, who also played for Rangers, only left his role as a coach at the club last month.
He departed the club after Philippe Clement was dismissed by Rangers with Stephen van der Heyden also heading for the exit.
But, Rae has continued his support for the club by attending the derby fixture with supporters rather than previously when he was in the dugout as part of the backroom team.

Earlier this month, Rae opened up on working under Clement in a "real transitional period" as he hailed the tireless efforts of the Belgian coach.
Rae said of Clement: "I thought he was tremendous. His work ethic was second to none.
"He was first in and last out every single day. His attention to detail was second to none as well, and I've only got a huge amount of respect for Philippe.
"I thought he was a great guy."
