Pereira (12-2 MMA, 9-1 UFC) defended his light heavyweight title three times in the span of six months in 2024, scoring knockouts of Jamahal Hill, Jiri Prochazka, and most recently Khalil Rountree at UFC 307.
Meanwhile, Ankalaev (20-1-1 MMA, 11-1-1 UFC) is unbeaten in his past 13 fights. He secured his title shot with a unanimous decision win over Aleksandar Rakic at UFC 308 this past October.
