Liverpool will not allow Neco Williams to depart on loan this summer with the Wales international only available for transfer.
Reports over the weekend suggested the Reds could allow the defender to leave Anfield on a temporary basis, having shone on loan at Fulham when helping them win promotion to the Premier League during the second half of last season. However, the ECHO understands Liverpool currently have no intention of sanctioning another short-term exit.
The Reds completed the £6.5m signing of Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen on Sunday, with the Scotland Under-21s international set to serve as Trent Alexander-Arnold’s understudy at right-back in the first team next season.

Liverpool have placed a £15m price-tag on the right-back’s head with Fulham and Nottingham Forest both serious contenders to sign him permanently. However, they are not the only sides interested in the highly-coveted defender.
As a result, club sources expect Williams, who helped Wales qualify for the 2022 World Cup earlier this month, to leave the club permanently this summer.
Meanwhile, the Reds currently have no plans to sell Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer according to Anfield insiders.
The England international is out of contract next summer and found himself out of favour during the second half of last season as Liverpool chased an unprecedented quadruple. As a result he has been linked with a transfer away from the club this summer.
However, with the Reds putting plans to sign a new midfielder on hold until summer 2023, Oxlade-Chamberlain is expected to report back for pre-season on July 4 and remains part of Liverpool’s plans for the season ahead.
The 28-year-old, who got engaged to Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards on Friday night, featured 29 times for Liverpool as he showcased his versatility last season as he looked to put his injury problems of recent years behind him.
And with the Reds looking to defend their League Cup and FA Cup titles this year, as well as sides now being able to name five substitutions in matches in every competition, Oxlade-Chamberlain is considered a valuable member of the Liverpool squad who will have a part to play in multiple positions this season.
