Welsh TV presenter Alex Jones has thanked a woman who set up a blog and support group after her miscarriage to help others going through the same situation. As part of The One Show Big Thank You Alex said she personally understands how "devastating" a miscarriage can be.

The One Show sent McFly drummer Harry Judd and his wife Izzy, who has had a miscarriage, to thank Samantha in Hull for setting up her blog and miscarriage support group after she had a miscarriage. Via a video, Alex also thanked Samantha and said she understands how hard it can be.

Alex said: "Hiya Samantha, it's Alex here from The One Show. Your story really moved me, having had a miscarriage myself I know how devastating it is, and to have turned your own pain into a way of helping others is incredible, I want to say thank you."

"It’s really odd. You’re in that room looking for answers that you’re never going to get. You’re thinking, 'Have I done something wrong? What did I do differently? Was it because we flew a long way? Was I too stressed? Was I putting too much pressure on myself?'"

Alex has presented a BBC documentary exploring the issues surrounding fertility - Alex Jones: Fertility & Me - and she trained as a fertility assistant in the series Alex Jones: Making Babies for the W channel.
