Alex Iwobi responds to Everton 'negativity' claim but makes relegation admission

Alex Iwobi believes Everton’s dressing room is ready to fight for the club as it battles to stay in the Premier League.

The Blues will hope their struggles can begin to come to an end after the international break as they look to steer clear of relegation. But Iwobi, whose 99th minute winner against Newcastle secured a vital three points, said the team are determined to “show people that Everton’s not soft”.

Everton 's battle to pull away from the relegation zone is set to resume on Sunday afternoon as they travel to face West Ham United after the international break. It might seem a long time ago, but there was good news last time the Blues were in Premier League action.

A dramatic 1-0 win over Newcastle was sealed thanks to Alex Iwobi’s vital 99th-minute match-winner. Though this was followed up with a disappointing FA Cup exit, the victory did give Everton some all-important breathing room in the intense fight for Premier League survival.

Everton currently sit on 25 points, which puts them three points ahead of Watford in 18th and four points ahead of Burnley in 19th. With 33 points still to play for, how many do Everton realistically need to secure their survival into next season?
