Alex Cooper Says She Has ‘Nothing To Do With’ Alix Earle’s Hiatus From Hot Mess Podcast

Alex Cooper has taken to social media to clarify that she has “nothing to do with” Alix Earle taking a break from her popular podcast, Hot Mess.

ICYMI, Earle revealed on TikTok earlier this week that she was going to “put a pause on podcasting now for the foreseeable future”.

At the time, the influencer said she couldn’t “get into the details” around Hot Mess’ hiatus, but promised she would release “weekly vlogs” on her YouTube channel to keep fans up to date with her life.

“I’ve loved [podcasting] so much,” Earle said when announcing her podcast pause.

“I’m really proud of what I built with the podcast. Those of you who come back every week and listen and watch, I love you so much.”

News of Earle’s break from podcasting comes just over a month after it was revealed that Hot Mess was dropped by Unwell Network, the podcasting company created by Cooper.

Naturally, the timing of the announcements led to speculation around a rift between the influencers, but Cooper has claimed she was not responsible for Hot Mess’ hiatus.

“I see ur comments,” Cooper wrote on her Instagram Stories on Wednesday.

“Alix not being able to podcast has nothing to do with Unwell. IDK why she can’t/what’s going on.”

Cooper — who hosts her own podcast, Call Her Daddy — went on to elaborate on Hot Mess’ departure from Unwell Network, claiming the company gave “everything back” to Earle including the intellectual property rights.

Cooper also alluded to her own 2021 departure from former podcasting network, Barstool Sports. (Image source: @alexandracooper/Instagram)

Beyond Cooper’s recent comments, neither influencer has directly addressed exactly what led to Hot Mess’ exit from Unwell Network, which named Earle as one of its first signed talents upon its launch back in 2023.

We did get a vague, influencer-speak mention when, following news of her podcast being dropped last month, Earle said in a TikTok video that “there’s been a lot of chatter online this week about me and work”.

“I also have no idea what’s going on,” Earle admitted.

In any case, Earle might have bigger fish to fry, since she recently sued British fitness brand Gymshark over allegations that they prematurely ended a sponsorship due to her previous social media posts about the war in Gaza.

What does all of it amount to, you ask? A piping hot mess!
