The agent of Inter Milan centre-back Alessandro Bastoni has insisted that his client is "very happy" at the San Siro. The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with a summer move to Tottenham, with reports even suggesting that the Lilywhites had made contact with his representatives to agree personal terms before submitting an official bid.
Bastoni previously played under Spurs boss Antonio Conte at Inter and was a key figure in their 2021 Serie A title triumph, making 41 appearances across all competitions that season. The Italy international enjoyed another impressive campaign last time out as the Nerazzuri finished runners-up to city rivals AC Milan.
Conte is keen to add quality, depth and competition to his squad to allow them to compete domestically and in the Champions League next term. And it’s believed that the former Inter boss is keen to work with Bastoni again and sees him as a potential long-term partner for Cristian Romero.

However, in an interview with Sportitalia Bastoni’s agent Tullio Tinti claimed that Italy defender is happy in Milan. “He is a huge fan of the team he plays for. He likes being at Inter," he revealed. “But he is also a professional, that is how football is and we must adapt. He is very happy at Inter and has the shirt on his skin of him.”
football.london understands that Bastoni is keen to work with Conte again, but is reluctant to leave Italy so early in his career for the Premier League. The defender is on international duty with Italy until mid-June and is yet to be convinced that it is the right time to leave Inter. The key over the coming weeks will be just how much the Serie A club need funds for their own transfer endeavours and the fact the centre-back does have just two years left on his contract. If he does not sign a new deal then this is the window in which Inter can get the highest fee for him.
According to Calcio Mercato Inter want €60million (£51.5million) for Bastoni this summer. As one of Conte's key targets it will be up to chairman Daniel Levy to release the funds to complete the deal.
