Tottenham Hotspur's transfer window is set to truly kick off with the arrival of their first signing of the summer in Ivan Perisic.
Spurs' managing director of football Fabio Paratici met with head coach Antonio Conte in Turin on Friday to discuss transfer targets and the club moved swiftly to tie up the free transfer for Conte favourite Perisic. The multiple title-winning 33-year-old Croatian informed Inter Milan of his intention not to renew his contract with them and instead he stayed the night at Hotspur Way on Sunday evening ahead of his medical on Monday ahead of signing a two-year deal.
The experienced wide man is set to be the first new face of a transfer overhaul at Tottenham with Conte understood to have requested at least six new faces this summer with the defence a priority area for an improvement in depth. Another Inter Milan star in 23-year-old Alessandro Bastoni has been targeted as a potential central defensive recruit if the club can prise him away from the Serie A side.
