Alesha Dixon has slammed Jeremy Clarkson over his comments about Meghan Markle.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge called for the former Top Gear presenter to be “muzzled” after he wrote an explosive column for The Sun.
Jeremy’s comments have been widely condemned after he wrote that he was “dreaming of the day when she [Meghan] is made to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while the crowds chant, ‘Shame!’ and throw lumps of excrement at her”.
As Alesha, 44, signed off from her interview on This Morning, she took a moment to air her anger on the situation after she wished everyone a Happy Christmas.
In a sweet message of support, Alesha said: “I hope everyone has a lovely Christmas and sending everyone lots and lots of love and positivity and light as we all need it at the moment.”
As the co-hosts Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle gushed over the upbeat farewell to viewers, the mood took a turn as Alesha added: “And Jeremy Clarkson needs to be muzzled, that’s my sign off for the day.”
Josie broke into a laugh as Craig struggled to know what to say by the surprising comment.
It comes after Jeremy has been slammed for his misogynistic comments by celebrities, reporters and even his own daughter, Emily.
In better news, Alesha teased that she has new music on the way in the new year, but sadly this won’t feature a song by her former girl band Mis-Teeq.
When asked by Craig if a reunion could be on the horizon for the 90s and early 2000s pop group, Alesha said: “No, it’s not going to happen.”
However, Alesha did have her own mini reunion with her bandmate Sue-Elise Nash.
“I actually got to catch up with Sue-Elise when I was in Australia,” Alesha said after she was down-under filming Australia’s Got Talent.
She continued: “She lives there now with her beautiful baby and partner, so we spent time together, our children were playing together the ‘Mis’Teeq babies’ as I call them. But we won’t be doing a reunion anytime soon. No, I’m sorry!”
