Alejandro Garnacho leaves comment on Cristiano Ronaldo post after World Cup exit

Manchester United starlet Alejandro Garnacho has reached out to Cristiano Ronaldo after his "biggest dream" was ended at the ongoing World Cup in Qatar.

Ronaldo, 37, remains without a club after leaving Old Trafford for the second time last month. United and the five-time Ballon d'Or-winner parted ways following that explosive interview in which he criticised United figures past and present with no way back for the Portugal captain.

With speculation over his future ongoing, Ronaldo headed to Qatar with his country as they aimed to get their hands on the golden trophy. However, the Euro 2016 winners were beaten 1-0 by Morocco in the quarter-final and Ronaldo was spotted leaving the pitch in tears.

Reflecting on Portugal being eliminated from the competition, Ronaldo took to Instagram as he sent a message to his followers. Part of that emotional message read: "Winning the World Cup for Portugal was the biggest and most ambitious dream of my career.

"I fought for it. I fought hard for this dream.

"In the five appearances, I scored in World Cups over 16 years, always by the side of great players and supported by millions of Portuguese, I gave my all. Leave it all out on the field, I never turned my face to the fight and I never gave up on that dream.

"Sadly the dream ended. Not much more to say for now, thank you Portugal."

Ronaldo quickly attracted 26million likes on that post with countless replies appearing below. Famous names such as Vinicius Junior, Pele, Piers Morgan, LeBron James and Jamie Foxx posted their support and gratitude to the Portugal captain as Garnacho simply left a red love-heart emoji in the comments section.

While they only briefly rubbed shoulders as United teammates, Ronaldo assisted Garnacho for his first senior goal.
