Alejandro Garnacho compared to three Manchester United legends including Cristiano Ronaldo

Alejandro Garnacho has been compared to three Manchester United legends - including Cristiano Ronaldo - after producing another eye-catching moment against Aston Villa.

Summoned from the bench at Old Trafford on Thursday night, the Argentina talent provided two assists during his 30-minute cameo including an inch-perfect ball for Scott McTominay to round off the scoring. United booked their place in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup with a deserved 4-2 victory.

Garnacho took centre stage post-match following his introduction. After showcasing his dribbling and finishing vs Real Sociedad seven days ago - when scoring his first goal for the club - on this outing he displayed another side to his game with those two assists.

It was enough to see him namedropped with Ronaldo, David Beckham and George Best - not bad company.

Speaking on radio station talkSPORT, former Sunderland man Micky Gray said: "Erik ten Hag put him on the biggest stage and he come up with the goods after coming off the bench. All of his teammates going up to him, patting him on the back and giving him a hug.

"What a ball into the box. It was like it was in slow-motion going into the area."

Gray added: "It's outstanding, it doesn't get better than that - it's Beckham-esque from the other side of the pitch. He's a wonderkid and there's no question in my mind."

Addressing the United starlet at full-time, commentator Hugh Woozencroft continued: "These fans have been off their seats before for the likes of George Best and Cristiano Ronaldo - and Alejandro Garnacho is the new name. He might be wearing the number 7 shirt in a couple of seasons."
