Aled Jones' daughter Emilia stuns at Oscars and becomes overnight star after Coda win

Presenter Aled Jones' daughter became a Hollywood star overnight as her movie CODA won Best Picture at the prestigious event.

Before taking to the stage with her fellow actors to receive the coveted trophy, Emilia stunned on the red carpet in a dazzling head to toe gold gown with daring cut-out waist.

She then switched up her glam look for the after parties after bagging an invited to the A-lister exclusive Vanity Fair event.

The Welsh actress was named the "next big thing" by Vogue magazine before her glittering night at the showbiz bash.

Feel-food movie Coda went down in history as the first movie from a streaming device to win Best Picture.

Emilia learned American Sign Language and adapted an American accent for the role, which also saw her scoop Best Onscreen performance.

In the film which is based on the novel La Famille Bélier, she plays Ruby Rossi, the only hearing member of a deaf family.

Emilia first made a name for herself at the age of eight in Shrek the musical with Amanda Holden.

Aled, who first came to fame for singing Walking In The Air, gushed over his daughter on This Morning.

He told Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard that he has enjoyed watching his daughter "from the background".

The Songs of Praise presenter said that he's glad his daughter has "found what she loves" and "long may it last".

He joked: “When do daughters ever listen to their dads? Come on! I don’t give her advice.”

He continued: “She’s so level-headed. She loves acting and being on set.”

Ben said: “You must have such immense pride as a father to be able to talk to her about her achievements.

“Do you ever wonder if you could do something together?”

Aled said: "She’s too busy to work for me. She’s like, 'no, forget it.'

"She’s more into pop music than my scene. She’s in LA! I can’t afford her!”

Speaking to PA Media, Emilia addressed her nomination: “I’m just so grateful that people loved Coda because I did work so hard.

"I was 17 when we shot so I had a big, big workload for 17, so it's nice, people are being so lovely."

The actress said: “I trained for nine months with American Sign Language and had singing lessons too because I loved singing, but I'd never had a singing lesson before."

As well as a new language and accent, she also had to learn how to fish.

“I also had to learn how to fish, so I'd wake up at 3am every morning for two weeks and we'd go out three miles at sea and catch fish for hours and hours, and the Massachusetts accent, I had to learn that too.”
