Alec Baldwin has undergone a hip replacement.
The 65-year-old actor could be seen sporting laying in a hospital bed and sporting a medical gown as he posed for a picture alongside wife Hilaria, 39, in a picture shared to her Instagram account.
Giving a health update on her spouse in the accompanying caption, the yoga instructor, who shares seven children with the Beetlejuice star, explained the had undergone the medical procedure in hopes of improving his “quality of life”.
“Alec got a new hip today…it was a long time necessary,” she penned.
“We have been through so much together … as your partner and as you heal, I want so very much for you to leave this very intense chronic pain chapter behind and improve your quality of life.”
She went on to thank the team of doctors working on her husband, as well as the nurses, medical staff “and the other amazing people who so generously are bringing him safely through this.”
Acknowledging his wife’s role through his medical ordeal in the comments section, Alec wrote: “And you. Thanks to you.”
His operation came a few weeks after he finished filming for embattled movie Rust nearly 19 months after the fatal on-set shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
