Alec Baldwin arrived at the courthouse around 8 am local time for the third day of witness testimony. The actor, accompanied by his wife, Hilaria, and his attorneys, Luke Nikas and Alex Spiro, did not speak to the media as he entered the courthouse.
The juror panel of 16, including four alternates, listened to testimony from crime scene technician Marissa Poppell and lead 'Rust' detective Cpl. Alexandria Hancock. Both witnesses provided insights into the testing conducted on the gun Baldwin held during the fatal shooting and the type of live ammunition discovered on the Western film set.
Additionally, the jurors heard from Italian gunmaker Alessandro Pietta, the creator of the vintage gun used by Baldwin. During his testimony, Pietta stated that it was not possible for the gun to discharge without the trigger being pulled. He emphasized, 'If you want to release the hammer, you have to pull the trigger,' to the jury.
Baldwin maintains that he did not pull the trigger of the gun on October 21, 2021. However, Pietta's testimony contradicts this claim, raising further questions about the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
