Rust weapon supervisor Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was accused of being "hungover" when she loaded a live bullet into a gun on set.
Prosecutors also accused Hannah of "smoking and drinking in the evenings" when working on the film. They claimed that her "reckless conduct" had been a repeating issue and that she need to "finally be held accountable".
The weapon was handed to Alec Baldwin on set and he pointed the gun at cinematographer Halyna Hutchins during a rehearsal on the New Mexico film set in late 2021.
The gun then went off, killing her and wounding the film's director, Joel Souza.
The accusations came on Friday after a motion filed last month by Hannah's lawyers seeked to dismiss her involuntary manslaughter charge.
In response to the new claims, Hannah's lawyer Jason Bowles said prosecutors had "mishandled" the case.
"The case is so weak that they now have chosen to resort to character assassination claims about Hannah," Jason told The Associated Press. "The prosecution has abandoned the idea of doing justice and getting to the actual truth apparently."
Hannah's preliminary hearing is currently scheduled for August, where a judge is expected to decide if there's probable cause for the charge to move forward.
The prosecutors also said that within the next 60 days, they will have decided whether to recharge Alec, depending on the results of an analysis of the gun and its broken sear.
The items were sent to the state's independent expert for further testing.
Meanwhile, Alec opened up about his future in Hollywood during a chat with his wife, Hilaria.
"I don't want to do this for a living any more. I don't. I don't want to be a public person," he told her.
In an interview with The Times, the 65-year-old actor admitted he is still struggling to come to terms with the fatal shooting.
Despite his long career and life-time of accomplishments, Alec believes it is Halyna's death he will be remembered for.
The Still Alice star said his wife has helped him survive the past 18 months as he faced criminal charges and credited her for "taking control of his life".
