Alec Baldwin posts photo of Halyna Hutchins on Rust set to mark one year since shooting

Alec Baldwin has shared a photo of Halyna Hutchins as he reflected on the tragedy on the one year anniversary of the Rust shooting.

Cinematographer and mother-of-one Halyna was fatally shot with a prop gun Alec Baldwin was using in October last year on the New Mexico film set.

Film director Joel Souza was also injured in the incident.

Lead star in the movie Alec marked the first anniversary on Instagram by posting a photo of Halyna, ahead of the final police report into the incident.

Alec shared the pic of Halyna looking into a camera while on set.

He captioned the post: "One year ago today…"

It comes following an undisclosed settlement between Baldwin and the cinematographer’s estate was announced earlier this month.

Lawyers representing Ms Hutchins’ husband Matthew and their son Andros sued Baldwin and the film’s other producers for wrongful death back in February.

The same day, in a statement the Santa Fe District Attorney’s reiterated that it was 'committed to pursuing justice for the victims, and getting answers for the community'.

Heather Brewer, spokesperson for the Office of the First Judicial District Attorney said: "As soon as the District Attorney receives the full report from the Santa Fe County Sheriff, she and her team of professional attorneys and investigators will thoroughly review all the evidence and make a thoughtful decision about whether to bring charges against those involved.

"No one is above the law and every victim deserves justice."

The DA’s office previously said the settlement would have 'no impact' on the ongoing criminal investigation.

Rust will continue filming in January, with Halyna's widower Matthew Hutchins working as executive producer.

He will receive a portion of the film's profits, Baldwin's lawyer said.

In a statement Halyna's husband Matthew said: "We have reached a settlement, subject to court approval, for our wrongful death case against the producers of Rust, including Alec Baldwin and Rust Movie Productions, LLC.

"As part of that settlement, our case will be dismissed. The filming of Rust, which I will now executive produce, will resume with all the original principal players on board in January 2023.

"I have no interest in engaging in recriminations or attribution of blame (to the producers or Mr. Baldwin).

"All of us believe Halyna’s death was a terrible accident. I am grateful that the producers and the entertainment community have come together to pay tribute to Halyna’s final work."

Meanwhile, the director, Joel Souza stated that it was 'bittersweet' to be working on the film following Hutchins' death.

Baldwin is allegedly also among up to four people who may still face criminal charges later this month for the fatal shooting.

However, Santa Fe Sherrif's Office is yet to charge anybody for Hutchins' death.
