Alec Baldwin laughs as car stolen after landing at Heathrow for first role since Rust

Alec Baldwin has said that his driver's car was stolen after he landed in the UK, where he's set to work on his first film since the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

The actor, 63, flew to Heathrow last week and reportedly made the journey for the upcoming thriller 97 Minutes - with him said to be filming scenes for the film in Hampshire.

His arrival however didn't go as planned though, as Baldwin has said that his chauffeur's car was stolen from a car park near the airport, with the actor laughing about the situation.

He recalled the experience to his 2.4 million followers on Instagram just days ago, with him sharing a video about it over the weekend on the social media platform.

The footage, which has almost a quarter of a million views, showed Baldwin walking along a street in the UK, as he explained to his fans what had happened with his chauffeur.

He said: "I'm gonna go ahead and record this because I think it's funny. I fly on a sleeper flight and I get to the airport, and I get through the immigration and they get my bags."

The Golden Globes winner said his driver told him to wait while he picked up their vehicle from a nearby car park, with the actor impersonating him, though admitted it was a "bad accent."

Baldwin however said: "He goes and I don't see him for like 20 minutes." The driver's absence prompted him the car company, with him speaking to the boss of the firm.

He said that the boss of the company told him that the car had been stolen, with Baldwin laughing as he recalled parts of the story. He said that driver eventually returned and said the same thing. Baldwin concluded: "Anyway, I hope you found your car."

It's understood that Baldwin is in the UK to work on thriller 97 Minutes - which is said to be about a plane that will crash in just 97 minutes when its fuel runs out.

The project is the first film that he has worked on since his colleague Halyna Hutchins was killed on the set of the film Rust in New Mexico in October last year.

A source told the Sun : "Filming is top secret, but there is a lot of buzz that Alec is set to get back to work after Rust.

"Of course, safety on set is paramount and the crew is being kept to an absolute minimum so he can focus on his work."
