A worker at a budget supermarket in Bristol was assaulted while attempting to stop a theft in the store. Avon and Somerset Police said the incident happened at the Aldi in Fishponds at around 10.45am on May 11.
The force said an employee was trying to stop a shoplifting incident when the attack happened. The Aldi worker did not suffer any injuries.
Officers investigating the case have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to about the incident. Police said he is described as being white, in his mid-30s to early 40s, of slim build with facial stubble and had tattoos on both arms and hands.

He was wearing a dark grey t-shirt with an image on the front at the time of the incident. He also wore black jogging bottoms, black trainers, a khaki baseball cap and was carrying a black bag.
