Coffee liqueur fans get ready to become excited, as budget supermarket chain Aldi is set to launch their own bottle of the popular silky smooth tipple.
And this won't just be any coffee-based liqueur, as it is said to be a 'dupe' for one of the most beloved brands that was discontinued last year - Patron XO Cafe. That's right, the German grocer is set to launch their own version of the cult-favourite liqueur that was a huge hit with partygoers and cocktail fans all around the world.
The supermarket's all new El Toro Coffee Liqueur Tequila will retail for an impressive £15.99 and will be available online and in stores from August 21, reports The Mirror.
Said to boast notes of chocolate and vanilla alongside the iconic smooth yet dry finish, Aldi's version sounds like it will hit all the right spots for those who have missed the cult tequila.
It comes after Patron XO fans were left dismayed last year when it was announced that production on the beloved Bacardi-owned tipple was being discontinued and pulled from shelves. Bacardi explained that they wanted to "focus on its core tequilas."
The cult coffee-based liqueur was made with coffee essence and Patron Tequila and was said to be a pleasant mixer for Espresso Martini's, and even for ice cream.
Despite being discontinued and pulled from supermarket shelves, bottles of Patron XO Cafe can still be found selling on Amazon for up to a whopping £100 per bottle.
Which means that fans can fill the Cafe Patron filled void in their heart with Aldi's £15.99 budget 'dupe' that is around 85% cheaper. So, no doubt, fans will be gearing to stock up on the tipple as soon as it goes available.
Aldi's El Toro Coffee Liqueur Tequila will join the discounted chain's range of award-winning spirits, which already includes a range of 'dupes' similar to some iconic tipples.
The liqueur will go available as part of Aldi's Specialbuys selection this Sunday, August 21, and it will only be available for in store purchases only. You can order for click and collect if a store near you offers the service.
