Aldi shoppers 'won't get a takeaway again' since trying 'divine' £6.49 air fryer meal

Shoppers are flocking to Aldi to get their hands on a £6.49 meal they're saying tastes as good as, if not better than a Chinese takeaway. The meal is for two - working out at £3.25 a head.

Aldi's Ready Set Cook! Oven ready crispy aromatic half duck with pancakes is available to buy in supermarkets now. It's already proving a hit with shoppers.

The budget Chinese meal has gone viral on social media. Some people like it so much, they've ditched their usual Chinese takeaway for the budget friendly meal.

The same dish can cost upwards of £15 at a Chinese takeaway. That makes for a solid saving of £9 - should you wish to opt for Aldi's food instead of a more authentic experience, of course.

Posting in a Facebook group dedicated to fans of Aldi, one woman shared a photo of Aldi's Ready Set Cook! Oven ready crispy aromatic half duck with pancakes, explaining how she'd ditched her Chinese takeaway for the budget-friendly option. The product also includes hoi sin sauce, and is said to serve two. Sharing her review of the meal, she said: "Tried this tonight, absolutely divine.

"Did it in the air fryer and the skin was so crispy and yum. Won't bother getting [it] from takeaway again, tasty, cheap and you know exactly how many calories you're eating."

Other shoppers seemed to agree with her feedback, says the ECHO. One said: "We've had this a few times, very nice", while a second said: "This is a favourite in our [house], get it most weekends".

A third said: "Ooh this looks lovely, will have to give it a go", and a fourth said: "Can you do this in the oven?", to which the original poster replied: "Yes, we just thought we'd try it in AF".
