Aldi shoppers say there's 'no point' as supermarket makes major Specialbuys change

Aldi is set to axe a hugely popular online shopping feature in a move that has left many customers disappointed.

The supermarket confirmed that it will be scrapping the option to buy Specialbuys online from Monday, July 10, meaning that people will now only be able to shop the latest range in stores. Featuring everything from homeware and garden furniture to beauty products and electronics, new Specialbuys are introduced each week and are available for a limited time only - often leading to huge demand from shoppers.

Aldi delivered the news that online Specialbuys, as well as wine deliveries, will be no more via its app and website earlier this week. The message read: "Like Take That, the Creme Egg McFlurry and a Freddo for 10p, all good things must come to an end. Soon Aldi will no longer sell Specialbuys for home delivery.

"While we understand this is disappointing, right now Aldi is more committed than ever to delivering Everyday Low Prices across the entire Aldi range, when our customers need it most."

It added: "But don't worry! You'll still be able to shop our amazing range of Specialbuys in-store with new delights landing every Thursday and Sunday and now with almost 1,000 stores across the UK, we'll be ready to welcome you with open arms (and more middle-aisle magic!) Thank you for your support during this transition."

An Aldi spokesperson told The Mirror: "As the UK's cheapest supermarket we are always looking for ways to keep prices low for our customers. We have therefore taken the decision to end our Wine and Specialbuys online home delivery services on 10th July.

"Customers can shop the full range of amazing Wines and Specialbuys at their nearest store or use our grocery Click & Collect service which is available in around 200 stores nationwide." But the announcement has sparked an outcry from shoppers, with many complaining on the supermarket's social media that they struggle to get their hands on new Specialbuys in their nearest store due to high demand.

"Oof, Aldi are taking their Specialbuys offline and making them store only - you can't even see what's available? Everything good is falling apart," one person said on Twitter.

Another disgruntled shopper remarked on Instagram: "Now you have stopped selling Specialbuys online there really is no point in shopping with you anymore."
