Aldi shoppers say £5 summer tanning dupe is 'much better' than real thing

Aldi shoppers have rushed to praise a tanning product that is "much better" than similar items from more expensive retailers.

The budget giant sells Lacura Illuminating Tanning Drops for £5.99, which help give a "radiant complexion" and "summer glow". The self-tanning drops are used by adding a small amount to moisturiser and rub into your skin.

The product description on Aldi's website states: "Achieve an even and glorious glow with the help of Lacura Illuminating Tanning Drops. These gentle and smooth drops will ensure you look your best. Don't wait for the sunshine, get yourself summer ready with these tanning drops."

One satisfied customer was quick to spread news of the drops online with fellow shoppers. Writing in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group, they said: "Tan drops £4.99 Aldi. My usual tan drops cost £30 and these are much better!"

Before long, the post had received 650 likes and more than 800 comments from Aldi shoppers and tanning users alike sharing their thoughts.

One revealed: "These are amazing. I can’t do fake tan application but pop a few drops of this in my moisturiser and it looks great!"

A second posted: "I would suggest using a tiny bit mixed in with moisturiser, they work over night and give you a nice healthy glow. One night I put a bit too much on and came away looking orange!!"

A third shared: "I saw these today, tried them and was raving about them to my friend. There amazing! I’ve used tan luxe before (priced about £18/£22) they looked very similar packaging so thought I’d try them. I’d say they work even faster than the normal drops! Highly recommend."

Another wrote: "This is also a fab buy. I spray after a shower a couple of hours before I go out and then then again and it builds up , looks amazing, natural"

The drops cost just £5 (Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group)

Meanwhile a fifth commented: "Love these, got mine for £1.99 in the sale. I also have skinny tan ones that were much more expensive & really cannot say there’s a difference."

A sixth stated: "Ive had these for about 6 months now and love them! I hardly seem to have used much from the bottle either! Great value!"

"I have these and they are great," an eighth simply said.
