Aldi shoppers rave over Specialbuy item that costs just 8p an hour to run

With the colder months settling in and energy bills remaining a concern, many households will be looking for ways to cut back on using their tumble dryer.

The household appliance is one of the most costly appliances to run, which has led to many savvy shoppers picking up heated clothes airers to help them bring down their energy bills.

And it looks like money-conscious shoppers have found the next best one on the market in the supermarket's Easy Home Heated Airer that went viral on social media recently.

In even better news, the airer is said to cost just 8p an hour to run - meaning your energy bills will thank you in the long run for not relying on the tumble dryer as much.

One shopper took to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Group on Facebook to share how they reportedly picked up the energy-saving appliance for just £7.99 in their local store, reports The Manchester Evening News.

Sharing the purchase, they wrote: "Aldi £7.99 bargain I think roughly 8p per hour to run. Much cheaper than my tumble dryer."

The post quickly gathered over 7k comments and 5k likes but some shoppers have added that online the price is still £39.99, arguing the price difference must depend on whether you buy it online or in store.

Despite this, one replied: "We need this for winter." Another echoed: "Omg I want one and get rid of the tumble."

"I want one," a third simply commented. A fourth added: "Think I need one too!"

However, not everyone was a fan, as one said: "I would stick to your tumble dryer. These heated racks are useless at drying the whole garment and it takes ages."

"They’re not very good only dry the bits that are on the bars and it leaves lines in your clothes. Takes up a lot of space," another hit back.

The Easy Home Heated Airer no longer looks available on Aldi's website, but keep an eye on your local store for availability.
