Aldi checkout staff are famously fast at scanning items. And while this can be convenient, it can often leave shoppers with many items still to pack when the staff are done scanning.
While the budget supermarket has previously said the speedy scanning helps to keep prices down, a "genius" tip for slowing down the checkout staff has been praised by shoppers after it was shared online. One shopper branded it "the best life hack ever", reports BirminghamLive.
TikTok user Ciaran Elliott Walms posted a video showing his items spaced out on the checkout conveyor belt. He said: "Top tip: Spread all your shopping out and it gives you time to bag it so they don't throw it at you."

The video has had more than 31,000 likes and hundreds of likes on TikTok. One user wrote: "Need to do that, Aldi cashiers are way too fast" and another added: "This is the best life hack I've ever seen" while someone else replied: "Genius."
But others were less impressed. One commented: "It's cheap because they scan quickly and have less people working. Use the packing bench. Shop elsewhere if you don't like it."
Another posted: "Please don't. Cashiers there get in trouble if they aren't fast enough. Don't risk their jobs for your convenience." A supermarket worker added: "Hahaha people think this works, we’ll just scan faster."
