Aldi shoppers praise £8 Special Buy that slashes energy costs to 8p per hour

Supermarket giant Aldi has been praised by shoppers for a £7.99 Special Buy that can drastically reduce energy costs. As Brits brace themselves for yet another rise in the price of energy, people are trying to minimise the amount they spend on heating their homes.

Some people have looked to alternatives like heated throws, USB gloves and insulated hoodies in a bid to keep warm. But while clothing can keep you warm, the task of drying said clothes without any warmth can prove more difficult.

However, shoppers have found a cheap and cheerful solution in Aldi. The best bit? It only costs 8p an hour to run - so you can keep your heating off.

The supermarket are selling the Easy Home Heated Airer and one customer claims she picked it up for £7.99 from her local Aldi store. Writing on Extreme Coupons and Bargaining UK, the pleased customer posted a photo of the clothes airer and wrote: "Aldi £7.99 bargain I think roughly 8p per hour to run. Much cheaper than my tumble dryer."

The post quickly gathered over 7k comments and 5k likes but some shoppers have added that online the price is still £39.99, arguing the price difference must depend on whether you buy it online or in store.

Despite this, one replied: "We need this for winter." Another echoed: "Omg I want one and get rid of the tumble."

"I want one," a third simply commented. A fourth added: "Think I need one too!"

But one argued: "I would stick to your tumble dryer. These heated racks are useless at drying the whole garment and it takes ages."

"They’re not very good only dry the bits that are on the bars and it leaves lines in your clothes. Takes up a lot of space," another hit back.
