If you're looking to pick up some nifty budget products, then everyone knows that Aldi's infamous SpecialBuys aisle is one of the places to be.
The iconic 'Middle Aisle' section of the supermarket has become famed for its range of unique products that are fairly low in price, but they have been known to include higher priced items. And that is exactly why their latest item has proven quite controversial with the supermarket's dedicated fans, as it is one of their priciest SpecialBuys yet.
The Manchester Evening News reports that the the item in question is a massive bell tent. Priced at a whopping £399.99, the item is perfect for anyone with a festival or camping trip planned.
A product description for the tent reads: "Make your next camping trip the best yet with this stylish Adventuridge 5m Bell Tent. Made with premium 100% cotton canvas, this high-quality tent is super easy to pitch and use. The breathable material means that condensation is kept to a minimum and helps to keep the interior cool on those warmer days.
"The tent itself has just two poles and can easily be pitched by a single person in under 15 minutes. It has built-in ventilation and additional ventilation panels to give the maximum flow of fresh air with the tent doors. Enjoy a summer to remember with friends and family and set up camp in this stylish tent."
Aldi was keen to share its new SpecialBuy on Facebook, writing: "Who doesn't need a Bell Tent this Summer?!" The post quickly caught the attention of shoppers, with some people questioning the £400 price tag for what could be considered an impulse buy.
One shopper joked: "Think I will stick with my Caravan".
Another said: "Needs to be pre inflation price come on Aldi you can do this at 199".
A third said: "Presumably this tent comes with a 4 poster bed, butler service and inbuilt wifi for that price."
While a fourth quipped: "Just nipped in for milk and a few bits, came home with a tent. Not me but I bet others have."
A fifth added: "Does it come fully furnished with a shower, air con and WiFi for that price?"
