Aldi shopper in stitches after picking up 'family pack' of ham

An Aldi shopper was left in hysterics after picking up a pack of sliced ham in her local store.

With the cost of living continuing to bite, more and more of us are turning to budget supermarkets like Aldi to get our groceries.

Laura Atkinson was doing a food shop when she picked up a "family pack" of breaded ham slices. But the packet, which was completely sealed along with the rest of the same packs in the fridge, had absolutely no ham inside.

Laura, from Newcastle, took to a Facebook group dedicated to Aldi fans to share her hilarious discovery.

Sharing photos of the "ham", she said: "£1.99 for this, come on Aldi sort your prices out, next to nothing in this. Sorry, not sorry." Her post has since racked up thousands of likes and comments.

Other shoppers, it seems, were eager to poke fun at the error. One Aldi fan said: "Bet someone sent their hubby with an empty pack so he wouldn't come back with the wrong thing and he just left it there!", to which Laura replied: "Nope, it was completely sealed".

A second joked: "That's the Veganuary option!", while a third said: "That's for people on a diet, new years resolutions and that". A fourth said: "You have until 11th January to eat all that fresh air".

Aldi has been approached for comment.
