Aldi say you've been cutting peppers wrong your entire life

Most of us love cooking a nice meal but sometimes the preparation can be annoying.

If there's one vegetable in particular we dislike preparing, it's the bell pepper.

Aldi Ireland have shared a kitchen hack for cutting peppers, and say you’ve been cutting peppers wrong your entire life.

In a clip shared on Aldi Ireland’s TikTok account, the supermarket chain shows a kitchen enthusiast preparing some bell peppers.

The video was captioned: “Another kitchen hack to blow your mind #Lifehack #Food #Aldi #AldiIreland #AldiTikTok.”

The tutorial demonstrates laying the pepper on its side, then using a sharp knife cut the top of the pepper off, then cutting the sides and removing its core, leaving you with strips.

You then cut the strips into smaller pieces and you’re done.

Don’t be discouraged, as bell peppers not only add some flavour to your meals, but are bursting with vitamin C (especially red bell peppers) and offer up vitamin A, potassium, fibre, folic acid, and iron.

After watching the life hack, TikTok users were less than pleased with some of the pepper being left over after cutting it, and wasted no time in sharing their thoughts.

One disgruntled TikTok user said: “You’re losing half of the pepper !!”

Another user commented: “the amount of waste on that”

A second joked and referred to Kendall Jenner’s failed cucumber cutting saga and said: “Sorry but I already get my skills from watching Kendall Jenner's tutorials”

While a third noted “home ec taught us nothing."
