Yes, you’ll be happy to know that the rumours are true. Due to high demand, the sellout Aldi heated clothes airers are coming back to stores - meaning you’ll have another chance to bag these lookalikes of our high-end favourites, but at a much lower price point.
You’ll probably already know that the best heated clothes airers can be a godsend during the colder months, helping homeowners and renters alike dry their clothes in winter (especially when you can’t just pop them on the washing line outside). So, you can imagine how delighted we were to hear that the Aldi heated clothes airer were returning to stores just as temperatures are starting to really drop – especially as they’re just as affordable as they were last year.
The fan-favourite Aldi winged heated airer will be available from 16th January for just £34.99, with the newer upright heated airer making its second debut at only £79.99. But as they were so popular last year, we don’t expect them to stick around for too long. So, you’ll need to snap up this cold-weather bargain while stocks last.
Aldi heated clothes airer
As Brits nationwide continue to search for ways to cut household costs amidst the cost of living crisis and Ofgem's increased January energy price cap, Aldi has announced its sellout heated clothes airers will be returning to the middle aisle from 16th January. And we have no doubts that both the winged and the upright options will fly off the shelves.
Compact enough for smaller homes and rooms, Aldi's lightweight Ambiano Winged Heated Airer provides plenty of space to hang washing thanks to its large foldable wings. Not to mention, it's a fraction of the price compared to Robert Dyas' almost identical sell-out heated airer.
The foldable wings also allow for practical storage when not in use (although we have no doubts you’ll use it more than you think), and it comes with a cover as standard - a handy perk considering experts agree you need a cover for your heated airer.
The 230W airer heats up as soon as it's plugged in thanks to 18 heating tubes and even features a cover to help speed up drying time. The folding design makes it simple and easy to store away when not in use, so will fit in easily with utility room storage ideas.
But if you need a bit more drying space, Aldi's new Ambiano Upright Heated Airer looks exactly like our favourite Minky SureDri 4 Tier Heated Airer, as well as the sought-after Lakeland Dry:Soon 3 Tier Heated Airer, which needs to introduction. The biggest difference? The price cut, as Aldi's comes in at just £79.99 compared to both of these £150+ models.
The Lakeland Dry:Soon was pretty much out of commission and sold out for months on end due to its unprecedented demand. Its popularity was mainly to blame for the inability to find heated clothes airers in stock last year and the year before. Despite it being available to purchase again, if you were after a more affordable alternative, then we think the Aldi version could be a good pickup.
Featuring 36 drying bars across three tiers, it also has versatile open-sided shelves that provide easy loading. Coming equipped with optional pegs for smaller items and a cover to retain heat, this fantastic device makes light work of drying clothes, towels and bedding. When not in use, the tiers fold upward to help store the gadget out of the way.
If you were on the fence about buying a heated clothes airers, now is your chance. If saving energy, time, and money is at the top of your priority list, then we think it's safe to say that after considering the cost of running a heated clothes airer, the answer is crystal clear.
Aldi's offering is not only cheaper than competitors but also one of the cheapest heated airers to run. At 230 watts, the winged airer will cost just less than 6p per hour to run and the 300 watts upright airer will cost less than 8p per hour to run. In fact, this affordability is one of the (many) reasons why Ideal Home Deputy Print Editor, Ginevra Benedetti, invested in an Aldi heated airer when they first launched.
'I bought two Aldi heated clothes airers when my son was born to help with the extra washing we'd have with a newborn,' says Ginevra. 'They're sturdy, easy to pack away and dry clothes quickly. My son turns eight next week, and they're still going strong. In winter, they're a total must-have, unless, of course, you have a tumble dryer – which I don't!’
However, if you're unable to get in-store to snag one for yourself, it's not all doom and gloom. There are many other heated airers available for a relatively affordable price - just maybe not as cheap as these Aldi heated airers. So, we’d suggest heading to the middle aisle as soon as these airers drop on the 16th of January.
