Aldi's new £1.69 biscuit spread tastes exactly like Lotus Biscoff spread

Budget retailer Aldi has launched a new biscuit spread and shoppers are convinced it tastes just like popular brand Lotus Biscoff spread.

Fans have taken to Twitter to share the new found product, which comes in crunchy and smooth, labelling it “absolutely delicious”.

Lotus Biscoff spread, which rose in popularity when Krispy Kreme created its now famous doughnut, has a huge fan base and typically costs around £2.28 for a 400g jar in supermarkets such as Tesco and Asda.

Aldi ’s new dupe, Grandessa Biscuit Spread, costs £1.69 per jar and fans have been going wild for it.

Twitter user @FlipThatsDelish wrote: “Damn @ AldiUK Back at it again with the special buys! This new biscuit spread is so good. And you betcha it tastes actually like that other famous spread. Available in smooth or crunchy for £1.69.”

@SusieL said: “Aldi version of Biscoff, tastes like caramelised biscuits. Absolutely delicious.”

Since the product also happens to be vegan, Vegan Food UK shared the products with its followers, and one excited fan left a comment which read: “This is amazing! Tastes just like lotus spread but without the soya (they do smooth too).

“I gave my husband some of the lotus and then this and he couldn’t taste the difference. Hopefully they will keep this on as a full time product.”
