Aldi's NARS blush dupe left my skin 'glowy' for just £4.99

Foundation alone can be an expensive product in our makeup bags, but what about all the added extras?

Makeup such as mascara, eyeliner and even blusher can set us back a lot of money, which is why Aldi dupes are becoming increasingly popular.

From alternatives to the Laura Mercier £40 bath honey and MACs £29 face and body foundation, Aldi knows what they’re doing.

The latest dupe that’s taken the internet by storm is the Lacura blush, which looks suspiciously like the NARS blush.

Aldi has pretty much got the packaging spot on, and despite a few minor differences, it’s very clear to see the NARS link.

I’ve been a fan of NARS products for years, and thought I’d put the £4.99 blusher to the test, considering the NARS blush is priced at a steep £27.50.

The blush

I went for the shade ‘Candy’, which in hindsight was a little too pink for my skin tone, but that’s all down to personal preference.

It seemed to really resemble the NARS shade ‘Coeur Battant’ which is a nice bold and vibrant pink.

I was shocked at just how pigmented this blush was for £4.99, and although it lacked the shimmer that NARS has, it looked pretty.

A little seemed to go a long way, as I only needed a small amount on my brush applied to the apples of my cheeks.

The blush was a really vibrant pink shade (Emily Sleight/ Liverpool ECHO)

It created a glowy look that I managed to blend out to look more subtle, but not too subtle.

Sometimes with blush, it can be difficult to even tell you’re wearing any, but this product offered just the right amount of pink.

The packaging was attractive (and extremely similar to NARS) and it genuinely felt like it was worth more than £4.99.

It blended into the rest of my makeup like butter, and didn’t appear streaky like some blushes can.

The verdict

Will I continue to use this blush? Absolutely.

It’s a pretty close dupe with some small differences, but is a great option if you can’t afford to fork out nearly £30 for a blush.

Next time, I’d probably try and get a paler pink shade to suit my skintone as my shade was very strong, but strong pigment isn’t a bad thing!

If you’re feeling daring, the blush could also double up as an eyeshadow, considering how easy it is to blend.

The Lacura blusher is currently out of stock online, but be sure to check out your local store.
