Aldi's heated clothes Airer is returning this week, after selling out in record time when it was last in stock back in January. The timing could not be more perfect as temperatures are set to start dropping after this week.
Having personally tried the winged design ourselves, while testing the best heated clothes airers, we cannot wait for stocks to come back this Thursday 19th September – incidentally, this is also when the cute Pumpkin Casserole dish returns too.
Not only is the winged airer great value for money when buying a heated appliance this season, but it is also perfectly timed to help those already struggling to dry clothes indoors.
Best-selling Aldi Heated Clothes Airer returns
We got to try out Aldi's £34.99 winged heated clothes airer and our tester was thoroughly pleased with the results. This is why we are over the moon with Aldi's announcement that both sell-out heated airers will return to stores this week.
The original winged airer comes with foldable wings, making it much more compact if you don’t want to put it away after every use.
"Heating up in just a matter of minutes, the Aldi Airer gets to work drying clothes super quickly," said our expert tester. "After three hours of drying our items, everything was mostly dry, which was a great result given that I live in a fairly poorly ventilated property."
We also rank it highly for comparison on how much it costs to run a heated clothes airer. "One huge highlight of using this airer is that the drying didn’t cost much at all," said our tester. "Based on current energy prices, the airer costs less than 6p per hour to run, meaning three hours of almost dry laundry, at an estimate, costs just 18p."
This affordable running cost is another reason why this is a great choice for those on a budget.

We wanted to recommend the Aldi Winged Heated Airer on our buying guide as the superior buy for those on a budget but unfortunately, because it sells out quicker than you can complete a spin cycle, and would therefore leave customers disappointed, we couldn't add it to our trusted edit. What is important to note is that the winged airer features a cover, which helpfully comes included in the price. This pod-like covering is essential for getting your laundry to dry as quickly as possible on this Aldi Airer. Thankfully, the cover is easy to fit and use.
While the cover may be effective at creating a cocooning drying pod to speed up the process, I think we can all agree that it's not very attractive to have out on show. But what laundry accessory is? The stylish new Joseph Joseph Eclipse Clothes Airer that's what. The linen-look new airer is not heated but is certainly the most stylish way to tackle drying clothes around the house during the colder months.
Keep watch: Aldi's upright heated clothes airer
In addition to the winged model we tested, Aldi also sells an upright heated airer that we haven't yet had the pleasure to try out. This hasn't yet been announced as a returning item - but it was in stores in January at the same time as the winged airer so we are holding out hope that it also makes a comeback.
While for some the winged heated airer is enough of a heated solution there's no denying that the larger upright models offer a lot more value for money, in terms of how much more you can dry at one time. An upright model is ideal for those looking for even more drying space, featuring plenty more drying bars across three tiers – a fantastic device to make light work of drying clothes, towels and bedding each week.
But of course, the larger the airer the larger the price tag. Luckily the Aldi upright model is far more affordable than similar alternatives on the market. For comparison, Aldi's Easy Home upright heated airer was priced at £79.99, £100 less than the best-selling Lakeland model which earns the best overall model in our round-up of the best-heated clothes airers on the market...
RRP: £79 | Easy Home's Aldi Heated Airer is a budget version to rival the upright models that prove so popular for larger households. With 36 bars the airer is far more substantial than the smaller winged design - ideal for drying clothes, towels and bedding on a much larger scale.
Although this one is rather pricey, our w&h valued testers really couldn’t recommend this Lakeland model highly enough – it's absolutely one of the best heated clothes airers on the market, and popular for a reason.
Knowing how highly our tester rated the affordable laundry solution we are happy to recommend a visit to the middle aisle this week to pick up this affordable Aldi heated clothes airer.
It's not heated, but I also highly recommend a ceiling clothes airer for any small home while drying clothes in the colder months – it elevates laundry out of the way while it dries.
