While the festive season may still seem a distant blur, Aldi’s returning wooden toys could kick-start the Christmas shopping when they are released this month. The range of childhood favourites and modern options will be made available to buy online only from Sunday, September 25.
Among the supermarket’s collection will be the return of the wooden Aldi supermarket, priced just shy of £40. Kids will be able to play shop with plenty of accessories, including a moving conveyor belt, cash register and play money.
If a career in shopping doesn’t suit them, then how about working in a laundrette, with the toy equivalent featuring a washing machine and hanging area in one. It also comes with adorable clothes to play-wash, two hangers, a matching laundry basket and an iron.
For the budding actors, the multifunctional wooden play shop and theatre features a theatre stall on one side and a shop front on the other. The set is complete with chalkboard signs, four pieces of chalk, a roll of paper tickets and a roll up curtain, allowing the kids’ imagination to run wild.
Speaking of which, the hand puppet bundle at £14.99 is ideal for putting on a show. The selection of five puppets is available in two options - farmyard animals or emergency services.
A cheaper alternative comes in the form of the wooden toy kitchen bundle at £24.99. This features matching kitchen appliances - including a microwave, kettle and toaster.
Also returning for 2022 is the £44.99 wooden baby unit, featuring a new grey polka dot design for this year. The set includes a baby changing unit complete with built-in scales, a highchair and a mobile, as well as a selection of essential baby care items, scissors, a syringe, a wipe box and a drawer, making it the perfect station to look after baby dolls.
