Aldi's 85p gravy granules has shoppers raving they 'won't go back to Bisto again'

If you're planning a comforting family meal such as a Sunday roast or shepherd's pie, then everyone knows that you need a trusty carton of gravy granules ready.

In most households across the country, you will be more than likely to find the ever-popular Bisto brand which is a cupboard essential for most mid-week meals.

But it looks like the iconic brand has tough competition from budget supermarket, Aldi. The popular discounted German grocer has been winning shoppers over with their low cost food 'dupes' that are similar to their branded counterparts.

From Subway rolls to McDonald's burgers and McNuggets, shoppers are slowly being wowed by Aldi's own-branded products of some of the UK's most loved food brands.

And now Bisto is the latest brand to receive competition from the supermarket, as their loyal followers have said that their Quixo for Meat Gravy Granules are so good they "won't go back" to the top brand.

Aldi's Quixo Gravy Granules cost just 85p for a 300g carton, which is significantly cheaper than Bisto's Gravy Granules that can retail anywhere from £1.85 - £4.

One shopper shared their love for the budget priced cupboard essential to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Group on Facebook after they tried it for the first time.

They wrote: "I thought I'd try this from Aldi, I've always bought Bisto gravy granules but I thought I would give this a go, everything is worth trying once.

"As soon as I opened it I thought no the granules are bigger this is going to be rubbish. But let me tell you I'm not going back to Bisto again, it melted quicker and it's definitely got more of a beefy taste.

"Before anyone goes off on one I do make proper gravy when we have a Sunday dinner but this is what I use for making cottage pie in the week".

And it looks like multiple other shoppers agree, as many of them were quick to comment that they had also been converted from the branded product to the supermarket's own.

Wils Car agreed: "I was always a bistro girl but switched to this. It’s fantastic for slow cookers makes a lovely gravy. Highly recommend the chicken one too x".

Angela Hunter commented: "I always used Bisto until I tried this. Now I use it all the time".

Marie Brogan also said: "I use Aldi granules all the time as well as stock cubes".

Gail Christmas replied: "I agree. Been using for years. Much tastier than Bisto".

Wendy Greenwood Scott wrote: "Used this for years , better than the top brand".

While Aldi's 85p gravy granules certainly had their fans, Bisto still had loyal followers who said that the UK brand is still their favourite buy.

Aldi's 85p Quixo For Meat Gravy Granules are available to purchase in stores.
