Beauty products have been a hot topic over the last few weeks with Boots' No7 Future Renew breaking the internet on its launch. Now, Aldi is joining the cosmetics conversation with its £2.99 Lacura Pineapple Hot Cloth Cleanser, which shoppers are comparing to Liz Earle's high end version.
If you are craving a little pampering, then budget retailer Aldi says "Unwind... take off your makeup and enjoy exfoliating your skin". It is talking about its Lacura cleanser which is enriched with pineapple extract, cocoa butter and aloe vera. Adding "it also comes with a muslin cloth".
The vegan friendly product is dermatologically tested and reviewers have called it a "hidden gem", with one five-star reviewer adding: "Just like the Liz Earle one, really nice on your skin, no dryness and excellent price".

The budget product has been reduced in price on the Aldi website from £3.99 down to its headline grabbing price point of £2.99. The Liz Earle version that shoppers are referring to, is a Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser current selling on the Boots website for £30.00 for 200ml or £10.00 for 50ml.
Liz Earle's version is described as the "original beauty icon", removing daily grime, pollutants and makeup to reveal smoother, clearer and brighter-looking skin". It’s enriched with cocoa butter, rosemary, chamomile and eucalyptus to cleanse, purify and moisturise skin, leaving it feeling comfortable, balanced and clean.
Aldi says its 200ml product will "leave your skin looking and feeling toned and moisturised". It is cruelty free and suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin.
Achieving an overall score of 4.9 stars out of 5, with 97% of reviewers saying that they would recommend to a friend, Aldi reviewers said the dupe cleanser was a: "Top skin product", with one shopper adding: " I love this product. It smells fresh and doesn’t dry out your skin". Another said: "Very good and gentle on skin. Visible difference after two cleaning".
A four-star reviewer wrote: "Great value, leaves skin clean and refreshed. Just as good as more expensive brands." But added: "Lacks any perfume."
Adding to the comments, another wrote: "Best Dupe Ever! Was purchasing a much more expensive brand but after checking the ingredients on Aldi’s version and finding them to be identical I’ve not looked back. Removes all makeup and leaves my skin feeling soft & hydrated. I love this stuff!"
