Aldi restocks 'excellent' air fryer that's £90 cheaper than Ninja

With more and more people turning to air fryers instead of switching on the oven in a bid to save cash as the cost of living crisis continues to bite, it is no surprise they are in such huge demand that Aldi had to limit sales of their version to two per customer after they flew off the shelves before Christmas.

But for those who were disappointed they didn't manage to get their hands on the budget supermarket's Ambiano air fryer at the end of last year will be thrilled to learn it is being restocked. Aldi has brought back one of its most popular Specialbuys, the 3L air fryer, but it won't be around for long.

The £34.99 gadget offers healthier cooking without oil and is perfectly sized for students, couples or people living on their own who don't want to turn on the oven for single or smaller portion meals, the Manchester Evening News reports. Aldi says it is great at cooking fries, bacon, chicken, shrimp, fish, vegetables and even cake.

As the air fryer sold out before Christmas, Aldi is once again restricting sales of the popular kitchen gadget, with a note on the website reading: "Please note: orders are restricted to 2 per person for this product and you will not be able to add more than 2 units to your basket."

The air fryer is available for pre-order on Aldi's website, with an estimated dispatch date of February 19, and it's expected to sell out quickly. The item's description reads: "You'll have plenty of space to cook all of your favourite foods, ideal for frying, baking, grilling, roasting and even dehydrating, this 3 litre air fryer doesn't require oil to fry your favourite recipes.

"It features an overheat protection, anti-slip feet and a 60 minute timer so you can relax whilst your food is being air fried. Enjoy a quick and healthier way to cook for the family."

The air fryer is a similar size to Ninja’s 3.8l version, which comes in at £130, so this nifty kitchen gadget can save shoppers around £90 - not to mention the lower energy costs in comparison to cooking in an oven.

Shoppers have left a string of five star reviews on the ‘fantastic’ device, saying it offers an ‘unbeatable price’. Anjela J said: “My daughter had this a few years ago and kept recommending it to me. Finally ordered and I'm sooo happy, it’s time saving, works quickly and crisps up food as it cooks it. Perfect size for me, saves on energy bills and cooks/heats food up effortlessly.”

Mary W added: “I bought this air fryer debating whether I should spend £200 on the Ninja air fryers. So glad I did! It’s fantastic. I was so surprised how quick things cook and taste exactly the same as cooked in the oven.”

Meanwhile, KC1025 commented: “I bought an air fryer recently before the craze started and loved it so much I wanted another one. I couldn't get one for love or money till this one popped up at Aldi, and it's brilliant! my other one is manual and a lot more expensive, this is digital and an unbeatable price!!! Does everything I want - it's fantastic.”
