Aldi revealed two areas where they wish to open new stores and will pay locals a finder's fee for spotting the perfect location.
The supermarket chain is looking to open two new stores, one in Formby and the other in Warrington. They are areas which are part of Aldi's national 'wish list' which they still haven't got sites for.
If a local can recommend the perfect spot for a store, they could receive a lot of money. Aldi offered a 'finder's fee' for anyone who recommends the site. They can be offered either 1.5% of a freehold price or 10% of the first year’s rent for leasehold sites.

There is a strict criterion for each site which can be recommended. Both should be able to fit a 20,000 sq foot store with around 100 parking spaces. Ideally the store should be near a main road with good visibility and access.
Aldi already has more than 960 stores in the UK and still has more than 25 sites left on their 'wish list'. They are also looking for one more store in the North West. People can also receive a finder's fee for locating the ideal place in West Didsbury, Manchester.
Chief Executive Officer for Aldi UK and Ireland, Giles Hurley said: “The cost-of-living crisis is worsening, and it’s being felt by millions of households across the UK. It’s in times like these when our customers rely on us the most, which is why we’re focusing on continuing to deliver our longstanding price promise by offering the lowest possible prices in Britain, every single day.
“Independent research shows our discount is as compelling as ever and that’s why more and more people are switching to Aldi. We will do whatever it takes to maintain our discount to the traditional full price supermarkets and keep grocery prices as low as possible for the millions of customers that shop with Aldi.”
Other areas the supermarket giant is targeting are:

- South West – Bath, Teignmouth and Penzance
- West Midlands – Birmingham, Coventry and Warwick
- East Midlands – Chesterfield, Leicester and Derby
- East of England – Cheshunt, Brentwood and Rayleigh
- North West – Warrington, West Didsbury and Formby
